Grover Cleveland Williamson, Sr., 74, of Wayne, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House., Huntington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Garrett’s Creek Community Church, Wayne, WV with Pastor Fred Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Queen’s Ridge Cemetery, Dunlow, WV. He was born in Wayne County on March 4, 1938, the son of the late Mose and Brookie Williamson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert. He is survived by his wife, Roberta A. (Thomas) Williamson; four children, Grover Williamson, Jr. and wife Kim, of Wayne, Gregory Williamson and wife Angie, of Milan, Tennessee, Roberta Holland and husband Dorsal, of Wayne, and Margaret Williamson and husband Shawn Stiltner, of Lavalette; seven grandchildren, Randy Lowe, of Wayne, Justin Lowe and wife Georgina, of Lavalette, Cody Williamson and financee Chelsea Chapman, of South Point, Ohio, Tiffany Williamson, of Milan, Tennessee, Pagen Holland, of Wayne, Cera Holland, of Wayne, Justin Williamson, of Milan, Tennessee, and one granddog, Gigi, of Lavalette; and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Brayden Lowe, of Lavalette. He is also survived by seven siblings, Polly Sansom, of Huntington, Jesse Vance, of Chicago, Illinois, Aley Williamson, of Wayne, Tommy Williamson, of Kentucky, Nary Combs, of Harts, Alta Rice, of Wayne, and Homer Williamson, of Prichard, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. He was a former heavy equipment operator with Local 132, Charleston. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington, Wayne for the wonderful care they gave Grover. Special thanks also go to Dennis Moore, Rhonda, Patty, Missy, Georganna, Ed, Sandy, Debbie, Dr. Kilkenny, all of the nurses’ aides, staff and Doctors of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for the love and compassion they showed Grover and the entire family. Friends may call from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at Garrett’s Creek Community Church, Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses. Morris Funeral Home, Wayne is in charge of arrangements.
