Elva Jane Jackson, 88, of Wayne, West Virginia, died Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, February 17, 2006 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, West Virginia, by Elder Roger Maynard and Brother Eddie Davidson. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Wayne. She was born February 24, 1917 in Wayne County, a daughter of the late James Garfield and Ellen Davidson Epling. Elva was a retired garment worker for the former Huntington Manufacturing Company and was a member of the Tom’s Creek Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Golden Adkins and Dover Jackson, a step-daughter, Chloa Tooley, four sisters, Elmo Mills, Lakie Sanders, Betty Toler, and Inez Epling, and six brothers, Theodore, Oscar, Forest, Emil, Cossie and Lucian Epling. Survivors include two step-daughters, Linda Clay and husband, Eugene of East Lynn, West Virginia, and Mary Etta Adkins of Columbus, Ohio, a sister, Esta Parsons of Lavalette, West Virginia, a brother, Archie Epling and wife, Carol of Wayne, West Virginia, a special nephew, Ronald “Bones” Epling and wife, Nell, a special great-nephew, Darrell Epling and wife, Rachael of Beaufort, North Carolina, and a special great-niece, Lynn Plymale and husband, Mark of Wayne, West Virginia, and numerous other nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers Olene Stephens, Lynn Plymale, Ann Alexander and Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Morris Funeral Home.
