History

Morris Funeral Home, Inc. has been serving Wayne area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.

In 1932 our family began serving the people of Wayne County with one important principle in mind: "To always be courteous and friendly, but above all, caring." And while we've grown through the years, we've never forgotten that principle. Because when you've been the funeral profession as long as we have, you come to know and care for numerous families.

Morris Funeral Home, formerly known as Booton Funeral Home was founded in 1932 by Ruben Booton. Ruben Booton was the father of Harold Booton, who would later become a funeral director and owner as well. In 1949, Ruben's grandson, Dana C. Morris graduated from mortuary school after serving in World War II. The funeral home then became Morris~Booton Funeral Home. Some twenty years later, Dana C. Morris, Jr. would graduate from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, and would follow in his father's footsteps. In 1970 the Morris family built a new building and the business became Morris Funeral Home.

Today, we continue the tradition with the same principle in mind. As our tradition of service continues into the next decade, many changes are certain to take place. However,we will never forget our principle, and will never forget to say "Thank You" to those who continue to place their trust in us.
